History of the State Service for Supervision of Industrial Safety and Mining Operations (Gosgortekhnadzor)
The Gosgortekhnadzor of the Republic of Tajikistan was established by Resolution No. 448 of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated April 24, 1958, “On the reorganization of state supervision over industrial safety and the mining sector.” Later, in accordance with Resolution No. 231 of the Council of Ministers of the Tajik SSR dated July 6, 1982, Gosgortekhnadzor was transformed into the State Committee of the Tajik SSR for Supervision of Industrial Safety and the Mining Sector under the Council of Ministers of the Tajik SSR.
In 1992, the State Committee of the Tajik SSR for Supervision of Industrial Safety and the Mining Sector continued its operations in Dushanbe, at 2 Ahmad Donish Street, in a rented building. The structure of the committee consisted of 61 staff members, of whom 54 were part of the management and inspectorate staff. In particular, the structure included a chairman, two deputy chairmen, a chief accountant, a human resources specialist, two chief specialists, and six inspectorates.
