TEMURMALIK DISTRICT (FORMERLY SOVET, QIZILMAZOR)

Named in 2004 after the People’s Hero of Tajikistan, Temurmalik.

Temurmalik, in his time, fought to defend his homeland, battled the Mongol armies, and even defeated their forces (the Chinggisids)!

The district is an administrative unit within Khatlon Region, Republic of Tajikistan. The district center is the town of Bahmanrud (formerly Sovet).
