Executive Authority of the Shahrinav District

Shahrinav District was established on 17 September 1927 on the basis of the Karatok District of the Tajik ASSR.

- By Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated 29 January 1932, Hisor District, and in 1935, Regar District, were separated from Shahrinav District.

- In 1959, with the aim of consolidating districts, Shahrinav District was abolished, and its territory was incorporated into Regar and Hisor districts.

- On 2 January 1992, by Resolution of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, Shahrinav District was re-established.

- The total area of Shahrinav District is 1,000 km².

The total population of the district is 132,400 people. The district consists of 7 jamoats (1 township and 6 rural jamoats), 75 villages, 8 neighborhoods, and 50 streets. It has 3 collective farms, 1,835 dehkan farms, 1 production cooperative, 2 state farms, 4 joint-stock companies, 30 industrial enterprises, and 3 construction organizations.

- There are 61 schools in the district, including 39 general secondary schools, 9 basic secondary schools, and 8 primary schools.

- The district also has one Vocational Technical School No. 11, one State Educational Institution “Lyceum for Gifted Students,” and two private lyceums, namely “Nur” and “Nuri Irfon.” Other educational and cultural institutions include a republican boarding school for orphaned children, the Republican Karatok Children's Sanatorium, a children's art school, 2 sports schools, a recreation center, 6 cultural centers, one Palace of Culture, 18 libraries, one historical and local history museum, one folk theater, one folklore ensemble, one central library, one children's library, 5 cultural and recreational parks, and 7 preschool educational institutions.

- The district has one central hospital, one regional hospital, one district health center, 18 rural health centers, 15 medical stations, 9 independent medical service centers, one therapeutic boarding facility, private pharmacies, private dental service facilities, and 78 sports facilities providing services to the population.

- The Socio-Economic Development Program of Shahrinav District for the period up to 2026 has been implemented, including the construction of administrative, educational, healthcare, sports, service and public facilities, as well as residential buildings.
